"Air intensity" (painting, graphic)

April 22-26, 2009

EuropArt, Geneva

Art Impress Artist Association have presented "Air intensity" art project to Swiss spectators at 18th edition of europ'art'09 International Art Show (EuropArt). The art works of modern Russian artists - Sergey Belov, Tatyana Struchkova, Larisa Meteleva, Natalya Nepovinnikh and Rusudan Hantadze-Andronikashvili were exhibiting during five days at Geneva Art Show.

Art Impress exposition at europ'art'09 demonstrating the art works of five Russian artists was organized not by chance. Representing different currents of modern art artists are united in painting of air...

This assertion is true in both literal and figurative senses. The skill to paint weightless airspace is the outstanding mastery by the canons of fine art classics. In modern interpretation using the bits of paper of magazine pages allow to create marvellous sceneries like Larisa Meteleva do it. Her sceneries of St.Petersburg's palace ensembles implemented in collage technique have made an impression on spectators - from a distance they look like excellent water-colours. The "water-colour" of her collages is not accidental - famous painter A.D.Shmarinov was her teacher. The feeling of air and warmth in artist's collages like water-colour's light breathing do not leave the spectator.

Warmth, pleasure of being, air and light run through the painting of Rusudan Khantadze-Andronikashvili. Sceneris of Georgian artist are childly naive and very colourful. Decorative plane painting of Rusudan resembles oriental carpets, variegated gobelins, weaved of bright colour threads. In her art works the artist pictures expanses of native Georgia but audience can see it's own views. French vineyard is seen on "The road" and "Okrakana" resembles Turkish riviera.

Bright impressions of air are reproduced by Natalya Nepovinnikh in her "May" series. Apple garden is the hero of her art works. The garden appears in different perspectives and conditions in Natalya's sceneries. The "Apple tree" - stormy sky and approaching rain are transmitted by astounding colours. "Paradise garden" is another mood -  euphoria. Artist's art works like musical compositions of different keys and rhythms imbue with emotions and inspiration.

The "Glass of cold water" of Tatyana Struchkova have became symbolical for Swiss audience. Spectators have drew an analogy of the picture's plot with well-known "La Belle Chocolatière" of Jean-Étienne Liotard (1702-1789). Charming young girl bringing a cup of chocolate on a silver tea-tray and today's girl carring a glass of water are two symbols of two epochs. Clean water becomes the same value as chocolate in the times of Liotard.

Everything is mixing and interlacing in today's fine art. Something seen previously can be painted and something like film scenario can be invented, cut by fragments and enframed. This evidently concerns the art works of Sergey Belov. They are painted skilfully and realistic but the author does not consider himself as a straunch realist. Sergey's paintings like perfect producer's works have failure to prove and symbolical underlying theme. Artist allots roles to his heroes unusually - plants and objects get leading roles and people become a crowd scene occasionally. Indoor plants with fragile leaves of "Interlacing with red" are tied up with red ribbon which play on the dark background. But suddenly the ribbon finds itself in the girl's hands braiding her hair. Looking narrowly at this art work when trying to perceive the young girl it becomes clear to understand that red ribbon, girl's hands and the air are the heroes of this picture.
