Mikhail Smirnov was born in Luzhaiki town of Gorkiy (Nizhegorodski) region, Russia. Graduated from the faculty of painting of the V. I. Surikov Moscow State Academical Institute under the tution of P.F.Nikonov. Member of the Russian Union of Artists since 2006. Several times was selected to participate in all-Russia young artists exhibitions. In 2006 was awarded the diploma from the Moscow Union of Artists. His artworks are presented in Nizhnetagilsk Museum of Fine Art, Borovskaya Town Gallery, in Funds of Moscow Union of Artists, in private collections in Russia, Kazakhstan, USA and China. Scholarship holder in the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation since 2007. Has publications on the arts theory.
